My wife, Donna, and I have lived in Mountain Terrace since 2009 and have greatly enjoyed being part of the community and its many improvements over the years. We value the natural setting, the strength of the community, and the diversity of our neighbours.

I currently chair Mountain Terrace Strata Council meetings and participate in other Council activities as needed. I have also been actively involved in several major projects, including the 6th and 7th floor membrane replacements, guest parking membrane replacements, and the hallways renovation project.

I am committed to helping maintain and improve Mountain Terrace in ways that support both livability and long-term value.

Professionally, I provide personal and corporate financial planning services, along with life and health insurance products, to individuals, professionals, and businesses. I hold the CFP and CLU designations and am a licensed Life and Health Insurance agent in BC.

I am also a Founding Director of Hollyburn Society, a charity providing social services and supportive housing on the North Shore. Previously, I served on several boards, including as Chair of the Disability Foundation (formerly the Sam Sullivan Disability Foundation).

On a personal note, I enjoy golfing (always open to play!) and sailing...I once lived on a sailboat for six years until Donna persuaded me "to move ashore".

Doug has been a resident of Mountain Terrace since November 2020 and first served on the Strata Council during the 2021–2022 term. Since then, he has taken on a variety of Council roles, including Secretary and Communications Coordinator, and currently serves as Vice President and Treasurer.

As Chair of the Emergency Preparedness Plan Committee, Doug oversees the implementation of Mountain Terrace's Emergency Preparedness Plan and helps ensure that the building is prepared to respond to emergencies and unexpected situations.

As Treasurer, Doug reviews the monthly financial statements prepared by Pacific Quorum and provides financial oversight and comments to Council.

Adrien has called Mountain Terrace home since 2015 and joined the Strata Council in April 2025.

She oversees landscaping and irrigation services, works with contractors, and recruits and coordinates volunteers who help care for the flower planters. Adrien also spends many hours tending the gardens herself, helping keep them looking their best throughout the seasons. Her own terrace is practically an orchard, with fruit trees growing alongside her other plants.

Her involvement extends beyond the gardens. Adrien contributes to beautification, communications, safety and security, and special events, helping bring projects and ideas from planning to reality.

Her goal is to help make Mountain Terrace a beautiful, safe, welcoming, and enjoyable place for everyone who lives here.

The Gardens Committee is always happy to have an extra pair of hands. We currently need volunteers to help with watering, mulching, planting, and other seasonal garden tasks. If you enjoy gardening, we’d love to hear from you.

YOUR COUNCIL AT WORK

The Council works throughout the year on the maintenance, improvement, and day-to-day well-being of Mountain Terrace. This section highlights current and recently completed projects, from building maintenance and landscaping to safety, repairs, and improvements. It offers residents a glimpse of the work happening behind the scenes and the many ongoing efforts to keep our building safe, well-maintained, and welcoming.

Hallway Project
Funding for the Hallway Renovation Project was approved by the owners at the Special General Meeting held on June 29, 2026. Following the approval, Council selected Corview as the project's general contractor. Owners were invited to vote on the final design and material selections, with the display remaining available on the fourth-floor hallway to allow additional time for viewing and feedback before the selections were finalized. Construction commenced on July 20, 2026, with demolition beginning on the first floor.

The project will continue in phases to minimize disruption to residents, and further updates will be provided as work progresses, see details

PARKADE POWER CLEANING
On August 12, Griffiths Pro Wash completed a thorough power washing and cleaning of the parkade. The work removed accumulated dirt, dust, and grime from the garage surfaces, leaving the parkade noticeably cleaner and fresher. A great job by the crew, and a welcome improvement to one of the building's most frequently used spaces.

Pressure Washing, Stucco Repairs, and Targeted Painting - Townhomes
On August 24, Corview Construction crews completed pressure washing of the perimeter stucco walls and the laneway-facing sides of the townhome units. This was followed by targeted stucco repairs and painting of the affected exterior-facing stucco walls and their upper sections. Work has also been completed in the north and south exterior stairwells, as well as in selected areas along the breezeway.

Mountain Terrace Website
A new Mountain Terrace website is being developed to provide residents with an easy-to-use central place for building information, news, notices, newsletters, events, resources, and community updates. The site also highlights the building's gardens, history, projects, and resident contributions, helping keep everyone informed while creating a shared online home for the Mountain Terrace community.
