Mountain Terrace Gardens
Hi, I’m Adrien, Head of the Gardening Committee.
We are very fortunate at Mountain Terrace to have such a beautiful setting, with mature trees, gardens, a pond and waterfall, and plenty of wildlife passing through. I spend a lot of time in the gardens and never seem to run out of things to notice, improve or simply enjoy.
This page is a place to share what’s happening in our gardens and how residents can get involved. You’ll find our Planter Planting Guidelines, call for gardening volunteers, and articles about some of the plants, insects and wildlife around Mountain Terrace. We’ll add more as our gardens and our collection of stories grow.

Mountain Terrace Planter Planting Guidelines: Examples of Restricted & Suitable Plants
Rose Garden
We need volunteers to assist with the following tasks:
WATERING OF COMMON AREA PLANTERS & FLOWER POTS
Planters on 6th-floor breezeway, flower pots on 6th & 7th floors at main and south entrances, rose garden, fire lane and visitor parking area planters.
We would like to establish a daily schedule for watering before the really hot days arrive.
We will need at least 2 to 4 volunteers for each day of the week, for approximately 1–2 hour shifts.
TOPPING UP PLANTERS WITH SOIL
On 6th floor, in front of TH units / Spring/Fall projects.
Shifts approx. 2–3 hours / over one or two days / We will need at least 2 to 4 volunteers per day / Dates to be set.
MULCHING UNDER TREES & SHRUBS
On west side of driveway. Spring/Fall project / shifts approx. 2–3 hours / over one or two days / We will need at least 2–4 volunteers per day / Dates to be set.
TRANSPLANTING, TREE & SHRUB REMOVAL
At various locations/as required. Needs several volunteers who enjoy digging, removing rocks and transplanting shrubs.
