The building is situated on a slope; Level 7 is considered as Main Entrance. The Townhomes are 2 storeys on the west of the complex situated on Levels 6 & 7.

Wildlife
Our forested setting means wildlife is part of everyday life. Residents may encounter black bears, deer, coyotes, squirrels, chipmunks, owls, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, and a variety of songbirds around the property and in the surrounding neighbourhood. Our gardens and ponds provide a welcoming habitat for dragonflies and butterflies.

Gardens & Plants
The grounds are home to an impressive variety of trees, shrubs, and flowering plants, from hydrangeas and magnolias to rhododendrons, azaleas, weeping Blue Atlas cedar, weeping cherry, and mature evergreens. Tucked along the south side of the building is a beautiful rose garden featuring an exceptional collection of varieties, including several specially ordered from UK.

Annual Traditions
Mountain Terrace has a number of traditions that bring residents together throughout the year, including the Christmas Door Contest, Christmas Eve Caroling, Winter Holiday Party, and Summer/Fall BBQ.

A Unique Water Feature
Mountain Terrace is distinctive for its exterior water wall and landscaped waterfall, integrated into the building and surrounding gardens.

Close to Nature & Recreation
With Deep Cove, Mount Seymour, and Northlands Golf Course nearby, residents have easy access to hiking, skiing, kayaking, fishing, golfing, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities.

A Few Interesting Things About Mountain Terrace

A glimpse into the past

Long before Mountain Terrace became part of the neighbourhood, the slopes around Ostler Court were largely forested, with relatively little residential development. The aerial photographs below show how the area gradually changed as North Vancouver expanded, while the surrounding mountain landscape and natural setting remained remarkably intact.

Completed in 1993, Mountain Terrace was designed as a concrete residential development on a steep, wooded North Vancouver site. Its stepped form follows the hillside, with large terraces opening toward the surrounding landscape. Today, mature gardens, trees, rockwork and the pond further integrate the building with its natural setting.

Aerial photographs from before and around the time Mountain Terrace was built offer a fascinating glimpse of how the neighbourhood has evolved, while the surrounding forests, mountains and waterfront have remained remarkably unchanged.

Current map

Taking its name from the Indian River, which flows into the head of Indian Arm, Indian River is one of the more recently developed residential areas of the North Shore. As the neighbourhood developed, areas of natural forest were preserved alongside new homes and community amenities.

Dorothy Lynas Elementary School was completed and opened in 1990, followed by the development of Parkgate Village in the early 1990s, bringing additional shops and services to the area. The District of North Vancouver later established a community centre and library at Parkgate, creating an important community hub for the eastern part of the Seymour area.

Situated just north of Mount Seymour Parkway and adjacent to Parkgate Village, Indian River combines a quiet residential setting with easy access to nature and recreation. Northlands Golf Course, Mount Seymour and picturesque Deep Cove are all just minutes away, making the neighbourhood particularly appealing to those who enjoy the outdoors.
